Lee’s Summit High School was host to the Gridiron Club Dinner and Auction Saturday, August 24th to raise funds for the Lee’s Summit High School football program.
Items were donated for both the silent and live auctions, including: lockers, a soda machine, tables and chairs that were then decorated to represent Lee’s Summit High School and Tiger Football.
The freshmen and sophomore players served the 300 guests a delicious meal of steak and chicken. The junior players helped run the silent auction in the Lecture Hall and answered questions for the guests. The senior players conducted skits and for the live auction and even modeled some of the items.
"It was just a good time for our kids and the people that were there," Head Football Coach, Eric Thomas, said.
The total amount raised is still being figured out.
"We appreciate all of the support that everybody gave that came out and the people that donated to us and our sponsors," Thomas said.
