Lee's Summit High School Students Capture Awards at Local and State Industrial Education Competitions

Lee's Summit High School students recently captured awards at the Suburban Kansas City Industrial Education Association competition, held April 23, and the Technology Education Association of Missouri (TEAM) contest, held May 7. Students winning awards in the metro-area competition in introduction to engineering and design were Kelsey Angle, red ribbon; Tim Good, Aaron Neal, Jordan Andrews, Michael Miller, Avery Cates, Alan Preston, Bailey Reed, Brendan Kane, Jason Jones, Ryan Hagedorn and Jordan Barber, all blue ribbons. Michael Miller and Avery Cates were both grand award winners, and Aaron Neal and Alan Preston were runner-up winners. Students winning awards in the metro-area contest from the advanced concepts in CAD (computer-assisted drafting) class were Brianne Letner, red ribbon; Cody Horky, Corey Gaunt, Amanuel Behre, Chris Kirk and Jason Ringer, all blue ribbons. Grand award winner was Cody Horky, and runner-up winners were Corey Gaunt, Chris Kirk and Jason Ringer. Kelsey Angle won a blue ribbon and grand award in civil engineering and architecture. LSHS students winning blue ribbons and grand awards at the state contest were Avery Cates in mechanical and Kelsey Angle and Cody Horky, both in architectural. Michael Miller won a blue ribbon in mechanical at state.
