Lee’s Summit North Men’s
Cross Country team will compete in the State Meet on November 6 in Jefferson City.
The Broncos won the Class 4 Sectional 4 Meet, Oct.30, by a score of
41 points. Their nearest competitor was Rockhurst with a score of 65.
Broncos finishing the race and their points were: Kolton
Sheldon 3, Connor Moylan 5, Collin Hubert 6, Taylor Park 13, Will Thomas 14, Derek Somogye
31 and Joseph Gasser 39.
Points indicate the finishing place of a runner when
individual competitors are taken out of the mix. In cross county scoring, only
the finishing place of the first 5 runners is counted toward the final team
score, and the lowest team score wins. A team is allowed to have 7 runners
compete, hoping their 6th and 7th finishers can move
others down in the scoring.
Other Lee’s Summit
men competing individually were: Austin Clowes(LSW)21st, Vinny Tadokoro(LS)
29th, Jake Kouba(LSW)40th and Jordan Andrews(LS) 57th. Clowes and Tadokoro qualify as individuals to go to state also.
The Class 4 men will race at 10:15am November 6 at the Oak Hills Golf Center
in Jefferson City.
