Lee's Summit North/Taps at Pearl Harbor

Pearl Harbor Day

December 7, 2010
by Merle Bowers

Video by Jim McFall

Sixty-nine years ago the United States was attacked by the Imperial Navy of Japan, bringing our country into the conflict later known as World War II.

Each year on this date, we pause to remember the brave men and women who died in that attack.

While at the site of that attack on a recent trip, Kyle Dyer and Brianne DeBose, Lee's Summit North band students, played the mournful sounds of Taps.

Please pause and remember the sacrifice of our World War II veterens as you hear these students' rendition of Taps.

Day is done, gone the sun,

From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;

All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.

    Good for you, Linda. That was a memorable trip and the band was fantastic. Didn't know you had entered this, I'm proud for Lee's Summit and these kids!
