Lee’s Summit Police Announce Arrest in Carjacking Case

The Lee’s Summit Police Department is able to confirm that an arrest has been made in regards to the armed carjacking incident from early this morning.
Today, Jackson County Prosecutor’s charged 19 year old Robert J. Rule with a total of four felony counts relating to the attempted carjacking in Lee’s Summit and also an earlier carjacking that occurred in Independence.
The case was submitted as the result of a cooperative investigation between the Lee’s Summit Police Department and the Independence Missouri Police Department.
Robert Rule was charged with 1st Degree Robbery, a Class A felony and armed criminal action with regards to the Independence case and attempted 1st Degree Robbery and Armed Criminal Action for the Lee’s Summit incident.
Bond was set at $200,000. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident at 7-Eleven Convenience Store this morning in Cass County Missouri.
After fleeing from Lee’s Summit officers, the suspect was eventually located by Cass County Sheriff’s deputies and Belton Police officers and taken into custody at an address in Cass County, Missouri.
