Lee’s Summit Police Apprehend Auto Theft Suspect

On Monday, August 6th, 2012 at around 7:30 a.m. officers from the Lee’s Summit Police Department were dispatched to the 1400 block of SW Whistle Drive on the report of a stolen car.
The victim stated that he left the vehicle running while he ran into his home and when he returned he found the car was gone.
Officers responding to the area located the stolen car as it was travelling on 291 Highway. Officers followed the vehicle into a neighborhood in the area of NE Rice Road and NE Bryco Drive where the suspect ran from the vehicle.
The suspect was apprehended in a wooded area behind the businesses and taken into custody without incident.
The defendant, 23 year old Randy Bolling of Excelsior Springs, MO was charged on Wednesday with one count of tampering with a motor vehicle and one count of resisting arrest. Bond was set at $75,000 for the two offenses.
