Lee’s Summit Police Arrest Student at Lee’s Summit West High School.
Nov. 27, 2012
By Sgt. Chris Depue Lee's Summit Police Department
On Monday, November 26th, 2012 a School Resource Officer working at LS West High School was requested to assist a school administrator with a student after a vehicle search by administration had located illegal drugs.
The School Resource Officer was accompanying the administrator as they spoke with the student outside the school requesting he return inside with them.
While being escorted by an administrator the student pulled away and became verbally belligerent towards the staff member.
At that point, the School Resource Officer attempted to control the suspect’s arm and the suspect pulled away from the officer and turned towards him.
The officer deployed a TASER device in an attempt to regain control of the suspect. The TASER device was ineffective due to the suspect’s heavy jacket and the suspect spun away and fled on foot from the officer and administrators.
As the officer caught up with the student off of school property a second TASER application was used. The suspect was then taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Lee’s Summit Police Department.
The suspect, identified as Jamone Boyd, 18 years of age was issued municipal citations for resisting a law enforcement officer and possession of marijuana.
There were no injuries reported to either the suspect or the officer.
Boyd’s first court appearance is scheduled for January 16, 2012 at 3 p.m.

Looks kind of strange that a school administrator rather than the police would be searching a student's car with or without probable cause.
I was an administrator in a public school system -- Buddy you may be on very shaky ground. Where did you get your intel ??
Sure hope that it was not a girl !
You should have let the regular "cops" do a stop and search for suspicion and strongly suggested OFF school grounds.
Don't your players pass a drug test ??
