Lee’s Summit Police To Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint Saturday, October 13

October 6, 2012

By Sgt. Chris DePue

LSPD

The Lee’s Summit Police Department’s traffic safety unit will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and saturation patrol during the weekend of October 13, 2012.

The special enforcement effort will be conducted in an area of Lee’s Summit where drunken driving arrests and alcohol related crashes have occurred in the past.

The checkpoint will focus on identifying drug and alcohol impaired drivers and remove them from the roadways before they become involved in an accident, thereby making our roads safer for all motorists.

The checkpoint demonstrates the Lee’s Summit Police Department’s commitment to reducing the number of DWI incidents and decreasing the number of alcohol related traffic accidents as well as alcohol related traffic fatalities.
