Lee’s Summit Police Department team Blue Steel vs Lee’s Summit Fire Department team Red Heat

Lee’s Summit Police Department team Blue Steel vs Lee’s Summit Fire Department team Red Heat

October 9, 2010

Saturday, October 16 10 a.m. ~ Noon ~ Lee's Summit North High School football field.

In what is expected to be the hottest free ticket in town, the two teams will vie for top honors through participating in extreme challenges that will test their raw talent, ingenuity, team power and stamina.

The community is encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or cash donations to this event to support Lee’s Summit Social Services, a non-profit 501c3, that provides for those who are in need of food and other necessities in the community.

A large squadron of low flying planes in tight formation, piloted by volunteers, will launch the event promptly at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 16, at the Lee’s Summit North High School football field. The event will conclude at 12:00 PM with an award presentation to the champion and Lee’s Summit Social Services' Executive Director, Geneva High.

During the event, the area's latest fire and police equipment will be on display along with surprise aerial events.

During the weeks preceding the event, groups are asked to participate by collecting non-perishables and cash for this worthy cause.

Area pastors, Phil Hopper from Abundant Life Baptist Church and Doug Brown from Lee’s Summit Community Christian
Church, have thrown down a competitive challenge.

The area pastors will derive their winning score based upon tests of mental and physical stamina.

Each church will want to cheer these two popular Lee’s Summit pastors on to victory.
Look for food drop off drums at Lee’s Summit area merchants as well as police and fire department locations in the Lee’s Summit area.

If you are a business, church or individual and want to help, please call 816-554-8181 and ask for the X-treme Team Event Coordinator.
