Lee's Summit Police Investigating Single Vehicle Fatal Accident

Officers with the Lee’s Summit Police Department are investigating an early Sunday morning accident that killed two men.
Police were called to the area of 291 Highway and SW Oldham Parkway at 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2012 on a single vehicle accident.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the car was travelling eastbound on Oldham Parkway when the driver attempted to make a left turn to proceed north on 291 Highway. The driver lost control of the vehicle which slid across the intersection and struck a guard rail.
The vehicle overturned once before coming to rest against the guard rail. Both the driver and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Both victims were males in their early 20’s and from Lee’s Summit, MO.
Oldham Parkway is an outer road that runs along US 50 Highway through Lee’s Summit. The accident impacted traffic flow for both north and southbound 291 Highway in the area.
6:58 p.m. The victims in the fatal crash have been identified as: Nathan D. Wright, 23 of Lee's Summit, MO (driver) and Samuel S. Rickner, 23 of Lee's Summit, MO (passenger).
