Lee's Summit R-7 School District students receive top honors at annual District Music Contest

     Lee’s Summit R-7 School District students recently captured top honors at the Kansas City All-District Music Contest.  Numerous Lee’s Summit High School, Lee’s Summit North High School and Lee’s Summit West High School students were selected for the All-District Band, All-District Jazz Bands, All-District Choir, the All-District Women’s Choir and the All-District Orchestra.  Students also have the opportunity to audition for the state music groups.
     LSHS students who were selected for the All-District Band were Emily Griffith, Andrea Hendrix, Lauren Knutson, Morgan Ramsey, clarinet; Matt Suppes, bass clarinet; Jason Ringer, bassoon; Rebekah Cooper, trombone; Mark Hansen, percussion option 1; Alex Cusimano, Jonah Graves, percussion option 3; Allison Grigsby (first alternate), alto sax; Alexis Rolls (first alternate), horn; Kyle Henson (first alternate), euphonium; Kayla Slagle (Honorable Mention Band), flute; Allison Grigsby (Honorable Mention Band), alto sax; Ryan Kneib (Honorable Mention Band), trumpet; Alexis Rolls (Honorable Mention Band), horn; Kelsey Kincade (Honorable Mention Band), trombone; Kyle Henson (Honorable Mention Band), euphonium; Rebekah Cooper (Gold Jazz Band), trombone; Ryan Kneib (Gold Jazz Band), trumpet; Allison Grigsby (Blue Jazz Band), alto sax; Jason Ringer (Blue Jazz Band), tenor sax; Charissa Buckner (Blue Jazz Band), trumpet; Sophia Motta (Blue Jazz Band), guitar; Tim Good (Blue Jazz Band), drum set; and Jonah Graves (alternate Blue Jazz Band), drum set.    
     LSNHS students selected for the All-District Band were Kim Abeyta, piccolo and flute; Brandon Jones, Alexandra England, bassoon; Brianne DeBose, Kyle Dyer, Michael Herrick, trumpet; Luke Flood, trombone; Ben Dawson, euphonium; Byran Anderson, tuba; Jonathan Freeman (first alternate), flute; Alex Eschmann (second alternate), clarinet;  Brendan Thiry (second alternate), baritone sax; Jonathan Freeman (Honorable Mention Band), flute; Alex Eschmann, Rachel Eubank, Jordan Glasgow, Bethany Forney (Honorable Mention Band), clarinet; Tony Hasek (Honorable Mention Band), bassoon; Brendan Thiry (Honorable Mention Band), baritone sax; Desiree Walden (Honorable Mention Band), trombone; and Mike Lee (Honorable Mention Band), percussion option 1.
     LSWHS students selected for the All-District Band were Kinzie Zitzman, Leah Shay-Zapien, flute; Mickayla Chapman, Joelle Beusterien, clarinet; Brandon Milam, tenor sax; Aaron Ratigan, trombone; Chad Maness, mallet percussion; Chris Beusterien (second alternate), trombone; Travis Houston (first alternate), timpani; Mike Dawson (Blue Jazz Band), trombone; Laura Cooke (Honorable Mention Band), flute; Jayme Emery (Honorable Mention Band), clarinet; Stephen Crossland, Joey Kopp, Josh Anderson (Honorable Mention Band), trumpet; Chris Beusterien, Mike Dawson, Collin Allen (Honorable Mention Band), trombone; and Travis Houston (Honorable Mention Band), timpani.
     LSHS students selected for All-District Choir were Emily Fiser, Jamie Schlotzhauer, Meredith Love, soprano; Katelyn Baron, Rebekah Cooper, Charissa Buckner, Kayla Cooper, alto; Daniel Musgrave, Tyler Fromson, Kory McEnaney, Vince Woods, tenor; and Caleb Larsen, Emerson Lentz, Zach Chandler, Darec Stowell, Ryan Hagedorn, bass.
     LSHS students selected for Women’s All-District Honor Choir were Chel Wendlandt, Mackenzie Viets, Abigail Jones, Miranda Schoonover, April Keel and Sarah Grace Miller.
     LSNHS students selected for All-District Choir were Alex Cook, Jessica Crouch, Kathryn Streeby, Laura Wilson, soprano; Alyssa Cooper, Sarah McGrath, Anneli Preisig, Emma Wheat, alto; Brandon Jones, Nathan Smith, tenor; and Jonathan Snowden, and Luke Welsh, bass.
    LSNHS students selected for Women’s All-District Honor Choir were Molly Flanagan, Brittany Bailey, Tori Woodard, Karen Burgess, Erica Gerwick, Lanessa Hickman and Fiona Morris.
     LSWHS students selected for All-District Choir were Jessica Carson, soprano; Whitney Harper, Liz Kouba, Kylie McCollum, Elizabeth Pace, alto; Collin Allen, Bryson Bruce, Rob Glauz, Chad Maness, tenor; and Tanner Boman, Sam Hassler, Ben, Melville, Trenton Piepergerdes, Aaron Ratigan, Jordan Weber, bass.
     LSWHS students selected for Women’s All-District Honor Choir were Julia Fleenor, Brianne Orr, Mikayla Chapman, Tiffany Glasgow and Kelsey May.
     LSHS students selected for All-District Orchestra were Caleb Larsen, Julia Myers, Kim Smith, Melia McDaniel, Natalie Chase, Liz Evans, Ana Motta, Leah Owen, Mallory Murphy, violin; Sophia Motta, viola; and Daniel Musgrave, cello.
    LSNHS students selected for All-District Orchestra were Lizz Hougland, Cortney Malloy, Kyle Tanner, Melanie Weilert, Anna Schuler, violin 1; Elizabeth Brock, violin 2, Rachel Wheelock, viola; Leah Dieker, Martha Weilert, cello; and Mady Cline, Sam Hallett, bass.
     LSWHS students selected for All-District Orchestra were Dominic Antonacci, Max Nunes, viola; Sarah Bechtold, Lauren Gaunt, Brian Hallis, Sydney Loethen, Andrea Moseman, Hannah Schwagerman, Liz Stout, Katie Zhang, violin; Hannah Frye, cello; and Louis Pagan, Charlie Pagan, bass.
