Lee’s Summit’s LARGEST Easter Egg Hunt & Pageant

March 29, 2014

Church on the Rock Outreach Center will be hosting the 27th annual: Lee’s Summit’s LARGEST Easter Egg Hunt & Pageant April 13, 2014 at 10:30a.m. at the Lee’s Summit High School Auditorium. There will be thousands and thousands of eggs, candies and hidden surprises for the kids to hunt. Kids can register to win a free bike. The Easter Bunny will be our very special guest at the egg hunt. Before the big hunt, Church on the Rock Outreach Center will present the beautiful, illustrated sermon: "The Whip, Hammer and the Cross".

This drama is complete with period costumes, theatrical lighting and beautiful music.

It all begins at 10:30am at Lee’s Summit High School. "The Whip, Hammer and the Cross" is one of the most memorable illustrated sermons you will ever see. Pastor Toney Hensley narrates and guides us through the last few hours of Jesus’ life depicting the scourging, the crucifixion and then the triumphal resurrection. You will never forget this inspiring drama. After the drama, we take a few minutes to draw for prizes. (That’s always an exciting time.) Then it’s off to the hunt!

For the last 27 years, Church on the Rock Outreach Center has sponsored Lee’s Summit’s Largest Easter Egg Hunt and Pageant. Each year, we invite area businesses to help us sponsor this great event. This year’s business sponsors include: All Packaging Co., Reinhart Foodservice, , Lee’s Summit Hy-Vee East and West, Walmart and Zak Chiropractic. We could not do this great event without the help of our business partners!

Each year, 800-1000 people show up for this annual community event.

We continue our Easter celebration on Sunday, April 20th @ 10:30am (at the church, 1700 SW Market St). We have a great Easter Sunday planned! There will be holiday music and Pastor Toney will be preaching an exciting Easter message!

All events are open and free to the public. Lee’s Summit High School is located at 400 SE Blue Parkway, next to the Highway Patrol building (291 Hwy & 50 Hwy).

Call the church office at 816-246-7625 or visit www.cotroc.org for more information.

I took my family to the Lee's Summit Church on the Rock "Eastet Egg Hunt" today. This event was not an Easter Egg hunt as advertised. First you sit through a sermon/pagent and watch a reenactment of the bloody beating and crucifixion of Jesus. This was not appropriate for young children and it is very deceptive to advertise this as as Easter Egg Hunt. Many families left the event due to its violent nature. Thiz is not a Community event as advertised, but an event intended to promote the church.

This event was awesome. My 5 year old and 7 year old loved it. They learned about a true event !! I love taking my family to it yearly. It's exactly what is advertised a pagent and a Easter egg hunt. If you don't understand what a pagent is its your own fault. Please educate yourself before you cast stones.
