Lee’s Summit Snow Week: September 10th –14th
September 8, 2012
The City of Lee’s Summit’s Public Works Department prepares equipment and trains staff for the upcoming winter season at the department’s annual “Snow Week” activities held annually in September.
This year’s event is September 10-14 at the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport, 2751 NE Douglas.
Approximately 100 City employees from many departments will take part in various training exercises as well as review procedures outlined in the City’s Snow and Emergency Plan. Lee’s Summit Mayor Randy Rhoads, Councilmember Rob Binney and Councilmember Derek Holland will be among guest participants operating a snow plow along the obstacle course. The obstacle course is the primary way in which employees receive training on the City’s snow and ice removal equipment before the start of the winter season.
As always, the goal of these activities is to provide a high level of customer service to the citizens of our community.
