Lee's Summit, MO – The Truman Medical Center (TMC) Lakewood Auxiliary will hold its fourth annual Evening Under the Stars on Saturday, August 22nd from 7 – 9pm in the main lobby atrium of TMC Lakewood, 7900 Lee’s Summit Road . Dave Eckert, Lee’s Summit Tribune Lifestyle Editor and host of PBS-TV’s Culinary Travels with Dave Eckert, will host the fundraising event. Food and wine will be provided by Treat America, The Big Biscuit and Gomer's, and the jazz trio, Diverse, will perform live. There will be an art exhibit featuring watercolor paintings and sculptures in the TMC Lakewood Art Gallery located in the mezzanine above the main lobby. This marks the fourth year that the auxiliary will host this event in an effort to raise money for TMC Lakewood. Last year, the event raised $7,300 and this year the goal is to exceed $10,000 to help purchase HALO SleepSacks for all babies born at TMC Lakewood. The HALO SleepSack is a wearable, swaddle blanket designed to keep infants warm while they sleep. The SleepSack eliminates the need for loose blankets in the crib, thereby reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Tickets are available for $25 per person or $30 at the door. For tickets or more information, please contact Shannon Ray at 816-404-9710 or via email at Shannon.Ray@tmcmed.org.
