Lee's Summit West High School's National Honor Society recently raised $500 for Hope House, an area shelter for victims of domestic abuse. Students sold candy, converting the cash into 10 $50 gift cards from Hy-Vee grocery store to donate to the local charity.
National Honor Society (NHS) hosts an annual community-service project to benefit Hope House.
