Lee's Summit woman charged with DWI and possession of marjuana when 1-year-old fell out of moving car
March 10, 2014
GiAnni L. Henderson of Lee’s Summit was charged Monday with child endangerment, driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is also charged with child restraint violation, failure to provide proof of insurance, and license plate violation. All charges were set for municipal court.
Lee's Summit police determined that the 1-year-old child was not properly restrained while riding in Henderson's vehicle and fell from the back seat of the car while she was turning off Chipman Road onto US 50 on-ramp Sunday at 6:10 p.m.
A passing motorist immediately stopped and protected the child and administered first aid until emergency crews arrived.
The 1-year old child has since been released from the hospital.
