Longview Horse Park Annual Show to Honor Bev Cathcard

August 20, 2011

The Longview Horse Park Annual Benefit Show for 2011 has been renamed to honor long time supporter Bev Cathcard.  August 27th at 6 p.m. the Longview Horse Park – Bev Cathcard Memorial – Benefit Horse Show will be held at the Park, 12600 SE Raytown Rd, Kansas City. Admission is $3.00 with children 12 and under free.

Cathcard was involved with the Horse Park since its inception serving on its Board.  She taught people, trained horses and had a remarkable show record.  She trained and showed Saddlebreds, Morgans and Arabians winning events at the American Royal, the Missouri State Fair, in Chicago, Des Moines, Minnesota and at Boy’s Town in Omaha.  In 1970 she set a record at the Phoenix International Show in the Ladies Stake Class.  She was a World Champion four times in 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1972.

Cathcard passed away July 21 of this year.  She had requested in lieu of memorials, donation be make to the Longview Horse Park. This annual benefit now dedicated to her strives to carry on her legacy.
Donations may be made at the Show or sent to Sara Ring, P.O. Box 171, Greenwood, MO 64034.
