Manslaughter Charge Filed in Arrowhead Death

February 21, 2014

An Independence man has been charged with 1st Degree manslaughter in connection with the death of Kyle Van Winkle in the parking lot of Arrowhead Stadium in December.

Joshua T. Bradley, 23 (dob: 1/21/1989), faces Involuntary Manslaughter 1st Degree, a Class C felony under Missouri law.*

According to court records, the victim had passed out in a car, a Jeep Cherokee, that was very similar to the vehicle that he came to the stadium in; the vehicles were parked close to one another. When the owner of the Jeep Cherokee found the victim passed out in his vehicle, he summoned help. The defendant was among those who responded to the Jeep Cherokee. He argued with the victim and hit him more than once. An autopsy by the Jackson County Medical Examiner later concluded that a blow to the victim’s head killed Van Winkle.

Joshua Bradley was arrested early today. Prosecutors requested a bond of $75,000.
