Meet local artist Craig McCord at Lee's Summit City Hall Thursday, January 17
January 15, 2013
The City of Lee’s Summit invites the community to meet local artist Craig McCord and view his artwork January 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in City Hall, 220 SE Green St., Lee’s Summit, MO.
Light hors d’oeuvres will be provided. In addition, guests can sample wine, compliments of J Beans.
Craig McCord is a self-taught photographer, who started developing his photography skills in the early 1970’s with a used Petri 35 mm camera. His photography influence included Ansel Adams, Brett Weston, John Sexton, Elliott Porter, David Muench and Art Wolfe.
Over time he developed a fondness for wide angle perspectives and using foreground elements to add a sense of depth to draw the viewer into the image. His portfolio includes a variety of picturesque landscapes from across the United States where he is inspired to capture the beauty and intimate details of nature.
Now working exclusively with digital SLR cameras, he uses light and form to convey the magnificence found in the natural environment and to help express the significance of preservation and revitalization of nature.
McCord’s artwork will be on display at City Hall, 220 SE Green Street, during normal business hours from January 17 until mid-April.
