New AAMCO In Lee's Summit

May 16, 2015

Lee’s Summit is now home to a new AAMCO Transmission and Total Car Care, located at 321 SE Douglas close to the downtown business district.

The building opened in what was once the location of Cooper’s Auto and is owned by Tim Cooley.  Cooley opened two AAMCO franchises in 2009, one in Merriam, Kansas and the other in South Kansas City.

The Merriam store relocated to Overland Park last August, and Cooley explains he had been planning to move the South Kansas City location for some time as well.

“My first choice was to move to Lee’s Summit because I felt Lee’s Summit was a great community with a vibrant and growing population,” he said.  “When the old Cooper’s Auto location opened up I felt I finally had the perfect place to move my store to.”

Cooley, a graduate of Arizona Automotive Institute, began his career as a technician in the same location that later became his own AAMCO center in south Kansas City.  He was ASE certified in transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension and engine repair.

His staff boasts similar qualifications.  Customer service is paramount, he said.  “I believe in friendly courteous customer service, accurate repair diagnostics, fair pricing, quality repair, and outstanding warranty,” he explained.  “I stand behind my repairs and whenever there has been any conflict with a customer I strive to resolve the issue in a fair, courteous manner.”

AAMCO covers all automotive repairs, but transmission repair and service is among their most common.  In addition, AAMCO covers air conditioning repair, brake replacement, tune-ups, check engine light diagnoses, and engine repair and replacement.

Other popular services include timing belt replacement, water pumps, radiator repair as well as shocks, struts, ball joint replacement and differential repair.  AAMCO offers nationwide warranties good at over 650 AAMCO Centers across the country.

AAMCO services foreign and domestic models.  “We honor all extended warranties,” Cooley said.  Customers can expect honest and courteous customer service from certified technicians who are transmission and total car care experts.

Currently, the new Lee’s Summit Location is running a free air conditioning inspection and offering a coupon for $10 off any oil change service for all cars and trucks through the end of May.

As a local owner of a national franchise Cooley explained his employees and suppliers are local but his services come with the backing of national brand standards and nationwide warranties.  “We provide a service to the community and want our customers to feel special,” he said.  “Establishing relationships with our customers is very important to me.”

AAMCO Transmission and Total Car Care of Lee’s Summit is opened Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.  For more information, call (816) 523-5588.
