Pastor Steve Gary welcomes you to the House of Hope and Healing Several years ago Pastor Steve Gray of the World Revival Church realized that there might be people who need hope and prayer. He built and opened the House of Hope and Healing on the grounds of the World Revival Church in 2003. The house, which is log-cabin style, is open 24 hours a day to those dealing with medical conditions for which they have lost hope. Pastor Steve says, “When people are dealing with a devastating disease, losing your hope along the way is part of the devastation. This is a place to come and get your hope back. We pray for people to get better, and many times they do.” He goes on to say that many physician offices have a cold, clinical atmosphere, and the house is warm and welcoming contrast. People from any religion or walk of life are invited to come if they feel prayer may help them. The house has trained prayer volunteers on staff around the clock to counsel and pray for those who come in search of help. Pastor Steve says you don’t have to be particularly religious to come and ask for assistance. Most visitors stay about an hour and can have privacy with the volunteers at the house. They may visit as often as they like and can come in any time, day or night. According to the House’s web site, “At the House of Hope and Healing, you will find a peaceful atmosphere in a private room where prayer helpers meet with you. As the team prays, you will get better! Sickness will flee! Fear will go! Restoration will come! God comes down in this place and we see miracles happen every day!” Pastor Gray is careful to point out that they do not wish for prayer to be a replacement for medical care, and that people should follow their physician’s advice and continue taking prescribed medications. He also likes to refer to what they do there as “faith helping” and not faith healing. They can be visited on the web at www.worldrevivalchurch.com/hhh/. The House of Hope and Healing at The World Revival Church, is located at 9900 View High Drive, Kansas City, MO. (Exit #5 North off I-470). You can also call for prayer assistance at (816) 777-0707.
