Pre-Treatment of Lee's Summit Residential Streets to Begin Wednesday Morning
January 1, 2014
With snow in the forecast on the afternoon of New Year’s Day, the City’s snow removal crews will begin pre-treating streets with rock salt at 9:30 a.m. on January 1, 2014. According to the forecast, additional snow accumulation of less than one inch is likely Wednesday night in the metropolitan area. Another shift is scheduled to work Wednesday night into Thursday morning, Jan. 2, to plow and re-treat streets
The City’s snow removal crews will continue to monitor weather and road conditions in order to make necessary changes to the City’s response.
Residents are reminded to use caution when driving and walking on pavement as well as the following:
Remove vehicles from streets. Shovel snow to the side of your driveway to lessen the amount of snow left at your driveway entrance. Clear snow from around fire hydrants so they can be easily located during emergencies. Do not make snow tunnels on or near streets or driveways. Snow plows and other drivers may not see the snow tunnels and could accidently injure someone playing inside of them.
