Pryor Road to Close at Route 150 for Three Weeks Beginning Thursday

July 27, 2011

Pryor Road access to the north of Route 150 will close beginning 7 a.m. Thursday, July 28, for grading and paving as part of the Route 150 widening project.

Pryor Road traffic will detour to Ward Road. The intersection work is expected to be completed around August 18.

Reconstruction of the Pryor Road intersection at Route 150 is part of a three-year, $68.7 million series of projects that are widening Route 150 to two lanes in each direction between Route 291 and Route 71, adding turn lanes, curbs and gutters, and reconfiguring Route 150 at Route 71 into a single-point, urban interchange. The new interchange opened last fall. Widening from Route 71 to Horridge is nearing completion, and work on the final segment will continue into next year.

The final segment, from Horridge Road to Market Street, is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Emery Sapp and Sons is the general contractor for the $14.1 million contract.
