R-7 SCHOOL DISTRICT CANCELLED ON Wednesday, Feb. 9
February 9, 2011
Due to inclement weather, all Lee’s Summit R-7 Schools are cancelled on Wednesday, Feb. 9. Elementary-school evening activities are traditionally cancelled on district snow days. For information about after-school, evening or weekend activities at a middle and high schools, please call the school's information line. All school telephone information lines are the school's main number plus "1". For example, the main line for Lee's Summit High School is 986-2000, and the LSHS information line is 986-2001. For a complete listing of all school information lines, visit the R-7 website at www.leesummit.k12.mo.us and select "Schools" from the toolbar and then "School Information Lines."
The decision to cancel school is based on student safety and takes road conditions and extremes in temperature and wind chill into consideration.
Please note that this will be our ninth snow day. State law requires that districts make up all of the first six snow days. Beginning with the seventh snow day, districts make up one day for every two days missed. This ninth moves our last day to June 1. Under the direction of this new state statute, the most days that would have to be made up is 10, and R-7 would have to make up the maximum of 10 if we miss 13 or more days.
