Julie Hume, was named the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District Learning for Life Award winner for October. She teaches German at Lee’s Summit West High School.
The award is presented to one employee each month who is nominated by co-workers and selected by a staff committee.
“Julie makes the language come alive in her classroom,” said a colleague. “By using videos, blogs and interactive technology, the students do not see German as a far-away land or language.”
