LSNHS, LSWHS And LSHS Cheer Squads Qualify For State At Regionals

August 18, 2012

All three Lee’s Summit R-7 School District high school cheerleading squads qualified for the state championship during the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association Kansas City Regionals. To have all three schools from one district qualify for state is a unique accomplishment and is a result of the R-7 schools placing first, second and third in the regional competition’s 5A Small Division.

The regional competition was held July 19 and 20 at Liberty High School and included 56 cheerleading squads.

Lee’s Summit North High School captured first in the 5A Small Division. Lee’s Summit West High School won second, and Lee’s Summit High School won third.

In addition, the LSWHS junior varsity/freshman squad finished second in its division (JV large). The LSNHS junior varsity finished first in its division (JV small), and the LSHS junior varsity squad won third in its division (JV small). The LSHS freshmen squad finished fourth in the junior-high division.

The three Lee’s Summit squads will compete Oct. 20 and 21 at the state championship, scheduled at the University of Missouri Hearnes Center.
