LSR7 Board Welcomes Superintendent Carpenter

LSR7 Superintendent Dr. Dennis Carpenter helped kick off the 2017-18 school year during the July 20 School Board meeting. Additionally, starting in August, school meal prices will increase between $0.05 to $0.50 to ensure R7 Nutrition Services meet federal funding guidelines.

Notice of R7 Open Public Meeting, July 20

Public notice is hereby given that the regular meeting of the Board of Education of Reorganized School District No. 7 of Jackson County, Missouri will be held at the Stansberry Leadership Center, 301 NE Tudor Road, Lee’s Summit, Missouri on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. to consider and act upon the matters on the following tentative agenda and such other matters as may be presented at the meeting and determined to be appropriate for discussion at that time.

Brad Rackers of LS R-7 Named Missouri Regional Teacher of Year

Brad Rackers, theatre director at Lee’s Summit West High School, was named one of six Missouri Regional Teachers of the Year for the Kansas City region. He was named Lee’s Summit R-7 School District Teacher of the Year during an April community reception.

LS R-7 School District Online Registration To Open July 6

Lee’s Summit R-7 families may begin online registration for the 2017-18 school year on July 6. The school district transitioned to online registration in summer 2016. The online procedures replaced paper enrollment in 2016 and are designed to make it easier for families to register and prepare for the school year.

Families may use their 2016-17 Powerschool username and password. Families new to the school district are asked to contact their child’s school for enrollment and registration.
