Summit Technology Academy students win top prizes in seatbelt education video contest

Summit Technology Academy students captured the top two prizes in a state-wide video contest focusing on seatbelt safety. The students, who are enrolled in the Digital Media Technology program at Summit Technology Academy, won first and second place in the Battle of the Belt Challenge, which is aimed at raising seatbelt usage among teenagers.
The competition was sponsored by the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety in conjunction with American Family Insurance.
A video produced by DJ Edwards of Lee's Summit West High School, Tim Hargrow of Blue Springs South High School and Shenita Hughley of Raytown South High School won first place. A video produced by Jessica Long of Lee's Summit West High School and Spencer Alford and Neko Lynn, both of Lee's Summit North High School, won second place.
