Roy D. Andrews pleads guilty to rape

Roy D. Andrews pleaded guilty today to the 1990 rape of a Kansas City woman and agreed to serve a prison sentence of 18 years, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Andrews, 46, had been charged with Rape and two counts of sodomy in connection with the Nov. 23, 1990 attack of a 33-year-old woman in her Kansas City home. According to court documents, Andrews raped the woman and sodomized her 11-year-old daughter. Evidence collected from the victims was linked to Andrews through DNA technology and he was charged in January this year, 22 years after the attack.
Andrews entered his plea the morning of October 31st.
