Sabor Latino is a restaurant worth adding to your favorites list!
Fanny Stredel and her brother, Julio Stredel are native Venezuelans and owners of Sabor Latino restaurant in Lee’s Summit. Fanny has lived in the United States for 35 years, and Julio and his family arrived just a year ago. They are as loyal and connected to their customers as their customers are to them!
Sabor Latino expanded and relocated from Independence to Lee’s Summit about 8 months ago, serving freshly made Mexican and Latin food. Many of their dishes are typical Latin meals such as Mar y Tierra (shrimp, chicken, steak, cinnamon, pineapple, onions and tomatoes over a bed of fries) and Plantano Relleno (black beans, chicken, cheese, pico, plantain and sour cream). Some meals are traditionally Mexican, like tacos, enchiladas and chimichanga. Customers will sometimes suggest or inspire a dish, such as the #8 Baleada Wrap. Fanny and her kitchen staff are happy to adjust their recipes for customers who have certain dietary restrictions. All you have to do is ask!
Plantain is a staple in Latin America, so you’ll find sweet plantain and green plantain on their menu in a variety of ways, served alone or within a dish.
Latin food is traditionally not spicy, but if you want to add a little spice to your chips or meal, try Sabor Latino’s famous spicy green sauce. It is addictive!
For special events, try their catering menu! For $7.99 per person, you can select among 3 menus for your guests.
Watch for daily lunch specials (like Tilapia Ceviche) and Friday night dinner specials. Sabor Latino is located at 607 NE Woods Chapel Road in Lee’s Summit. They are open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday & Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Happy Hour occurs Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and features half-price margaritas and $1.00 off beer and appetizers.
