Are you up for an adventure? Ready for a different kind of race? Pick a partner in crime and sign up for the 2nd Annual Search Out Hunger race!

Teams of two will compete in a dash around Downtown Lee’s Summit on foot using clues to find locations, solve riddles and complete challenges in order to earn points, in The Case of the Chronically Hungry Kids!
This year’s theme is “Downtown Detectives” and participants are encouraged to dress the part.

The fee is $60 per each team of two if registered before September and paid by September 1. Afterwards the cost is $70 per team of two. Teams will also receive a shirt for no additional charge, excluding a size XXL or larger, then an additional $2 is needed per shirt.

Juniors can be added to teams for an additional $10 each; however, parts of the race are limited to two racers.

A one minute head start can be purchased for $5 and insurance for one question, clue, or challenge can also be purchased for $5. These are limited.

The event begins on September 15 at 3 p.m. with check-in. The actual race begins at 4 and ends around 5:30.  The start line is located at the Train Depot at the corner of 3rd Street and SE Main.
An awards ceremony will be held at Stuey McBrew’s at 6:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and the Best Costume Team.

Sign up there is a limit of 30 teams.

All proceeds will benefit Coldwater’s No Hungry Kids program.

Coldwater’s No Hungry Kids program, in partnership with Harvesters, consists of three facets: The BackSnack Program, Summer Sack Lunches, and Holiday Break Meals.

No Hungry Kids is working on a $15000 campaign to facilitate their Summer Sack Lunches program, add 50 new kids to the BackSnack Program, and allow Coldwater to offer meals over holiday breaks to all SnackPack children.
