Sheriff Announces Release of ComputerCOP

Sheriff Announces Release of ComputerCOP

Sept. 27, 2011
Sergeant Ronda Montgomery

On September 28, 2011, Sheriff Mike Sharp will announce
the availability of the ComputerCOP Parental Monitoring
Software Program in Jackson County, MO.

Sheriff Sharp believes the Internet can be a great tool for learning, communication, and social networking.  However, during his career in law enforcement, he has also seen too many instances where children and teenagers are put at risk or victimized by Internet predators and/or cyber bullying.

That is why during a presentation to the Blue Springs School District, Sheriff Sharp and his staff will demonstrate a new parental monitoring software program.

The ComputerCOP software, purchased by drug seizure funds, is easy to install and gives parents an added safeguard to make sure their children are using the Internet safely and responsibly.  It captures full text from online chat rooms, emails and instant messages and can also check a computer for sexually explicit words, inappropriate pictures, and language promoting drug use. Even if a child tries to delete these items, ComputerCOP makes sure you still see the information that was erased through its advanced yet simple to use technology.

Sheriff Sharp says, "Parents are the first line of defense in the war against online sexual predators and cyber bullies. This parental monitoring program gives parents the tools they need to keep their children safe."  This software will not only aid in protecting children from harmful material on the Internet, but should also initiate a line of communication between parents and children regarding the positive and negative aspects of the Internet and its appropriate use.

In addition, this software is the only parental monitoring software recognized by National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to distribute copies of this software to the citizens of Jackson County.

Please join us at the Paul Consiglio Education Center at 1501 NW Jefferson, Room 103, Blue Springs, MO at 10 a.m. on September 28th to learn more about ComputerCOP and how to receive your copy of this software.
