Single car motor vehicle crash on Hamblen Road.

Police responded this morning around 11:30am to a single car motor vehicle crash on SE Hamblen Road near the south city limits. A Pontiac G6 was traveling southbound when the 18 year old male driver lost control, left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, the single occupant of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. According to Beth Glover, "the crash investigation is ongoing and will focus on contributing circumstances."
The driver’s name is being withheld at this time until notifications are complete.
