Summit Christian Academy Boys Varsity Basketball Team Seeded #1 in Pleasant Hill Tournament

January 11, 2014

Summit Christian Academy (SCA) 7 and 0 Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team have been seeded in the #1 spot in the Pleasant Hill basketball tournament scheduled for January 13-20. SCA, a class 3 school, will compete against class 4 schools in the tourney.

"Receiving the #1 seed for the Pleasant Hill tourney is an honor," said SCA Athletic Director and Varsity Basketball Coach Jake Kates. "We plan to stay focused and to bring our best game."

The SCA team’s strong showing this season and 7-0 record has also garnered the ranking of #15 on the Time Warner Cable Sports poll of the top 25 teams across the Kansas City metropolitan area. Additionally, the latest Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) rankings places the SCA Eagles at #9 in the state for class 3 schools.

"We have been playing very well so far, and I am pleased with the team’s chemistry and hard effort. We’ve got more games to play and our goal is to put in the work to make it to state," said Coach Kates.

The SCA Eagles will play Maranatha Academy at home on Friday night.
