Summit Pediatrics Has Expanded In Lee's Summit And Moved Next Door

September 28, 2013

Sara A. Myers, M.D., F.A.A.P.; Stacy L. Hurt, C.P.N.P.;
Tamara L. Petersen, D.O., F.A.A.P.; and
C. Marquelle Dean, D.O., F.A.A.P.

Summit Pediatrics, LLC, which was founded by Dr. Tamara Peterson, DO in June 2012, is excited to announce its new office location, a 7,500 square foot medical practice at 3171 NE Carnegie Drive in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

The new office is next door (immediately north) to the practice’s previous location on the west side of Interstate 470/Highway 291 and at the northwest corner of Strother Road and Ralph Powell Road. Dr. Peterson founded Summit Pediatrics in order to acquire the pediatric practice of Dr. Alan E. Powell, MD in 2012.

Building on the outstanding reputation and large patient base that Dr. Powell served over his four-plus decades in the area, Dr. Peterson has steadily grown the practice and its staff over the last year. Trained through her residency and then within the Emergency Department of Children’s Mercy Hospital, Dr. Peterson has brought her energy and passion for children’s healthcare to Lee’s Summit in order to grow and advance the legacy that Dr. Powell began more than forty years ago. Dr. Peterson’s goal is to be a valued resource for parents in Lee’s Summit, Independence, Blue Springs, and their surrounding communities.

The practice’s new signage is visible from the I-470/Highway 291 and Ralph Powell Road, and features ample parking and first floor walk-in access for the convenience of its patients. Dr. Peterson is joined by Dr. Sara Myers and Stacy Hurt PNP, and a large staff of nurses and administrators to serve all of their patient families’ needs. In addition, Dr. Cynthia M. Dean will join Summit Pediatrics in October 2013.

The Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs and Independence Chambers of Commerce hosted a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony at Summit’s new office location on October 3, 2013 at 9:00 am.

From 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on October 3rd, Summit Pediatrics invited the community to celebrate their new office location with an Open House filled with children’s activities.

The Open House included a children’s concert, magic show, bounce house, balloon artisits, face painters, and arts & crafts stations, plus fun food for the kids to keep them happy and hydrated!
