Summit Theatre Group presents 9-11 Drama, THE GUYS
September 7, 2013
STG’s 4th offering this season takes a serious look at a moment from our past. The Guys, by Ann Nelson, puts a writer struggling to respond to the tragic events of 9/11 with a fire captain facing the prospect of doing eulogies for the men he lost in the Twin Towers.
Together, they work not only on the speeches, but also their own confusion and heartbreak at what their city has been through. A perfect show to see during the week of September 11th.
A collection will also be taken during the show to benefit the Lee's Summit Fire Department.
The guys is being produced in cooperation with the Lee’s Summit Fire Department, which is supplying some equipment and also expertise.
Donations will be taken at each performance for the LSFD so they can help pay for their Honor Guard to go to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Ceremony this fall.
Performances are September 11-14 at 8:00 p.m. and September 15 at 2:30 p.m. in the Metropolitan Community College’s Longview campus Cultural Arts Center.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.summittheatregroup.com or at both Hy Vee Stores in Lee’s Summit. Tickets are $12 for adults; $10 for seniors over 60 and students.
Special based on availability only $5 ‘rush’ tickets are available for students one-half hour before curtain on the day of the performance.
Because of the limited space in the theatre, STG cannot guarantee that rush tickets will be available at each performance.
