October 17, 2010
The Steve & Kathy Show, a television program produced in Kansas City, has won its third Emmy Award from the Mid-America chapter of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences. The award was announced Oct. 9. The show won in the category of “Religion – Progressivechurch.com” for a skit that parodies the tailored, any way you want it type of church, in the style of Progressive.com auto insurance advertisements. The Steve & Kathy Show, a late-night television comedy skit and variety show about the absurdities of every day life and particularly religion, is written by Steve Gray, who also serves as the executive producer.
“I’m excited to have won an Emmy Award this year for this outstanding television program,” Gray said. “I’m honored to produce a quality, family-friendly show that has been watched around the nation and is winning top accolades in the industry.”
The Steve & Kathy Show has won 65 Telly Awards and has been nominated for 11 Emmy Awards in its first three seasons. The show has been syndicated in 200 markets nationwide. Gray, with his co-host and wife Kathy, lead a talented cast from the greater Kansas City area.
