Three restaurants set to join Summit Fair Shopping Center in Lee's Summit

February 22, 2010
Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Fajita Willy’s among latest tenants announced for Summit Fair

 By Cassie Lane, Marketing Director

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (February 22, 2010) – Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Fajita Willy’s are the latest  restaurants announced by RED Development to join Summit Fair, an outdoor lifestyle shopping center located at I-470 and US 50 Highway in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Red Lobster and Olive Garden are among two of the most sought after restaurants in Lee’s Summit. Red Lobster is known for its delicious seafood prepared on wood-fired grills, while Olive Garden offers a genuine Italian experience, serving fresh, simple, delicious Italian food. Construction will begin this week on the two buildings located at the northwest intersection of Chipman Road and NW Blue Parkway, near Bank of the West. Both restaurants plan an early summer opening.

Fajita Willy’s, a fast-casual Mexican concept, will join Summit Fair this spring. Specializing in fajitas, authentic burritos, tacos and made-to-order margaritas, Fajita Willy’s will be located on the east side of the shopping center, near the clock tower.

“I’m thrilled to announce that Red Lobster, Olive Garden and Fajita Willy’s will join Summit Fair along with previously announced restaurants, b:2 a burger boutique, McAlister’s Deli and the newly opened Sakura Sushi & Asian Bistro,” said Cassie Lane, marketing director. “Our customers have been asking for a Red Lobster or an Olive Garden, so I’m pleased to announce that they are both coming to Summit Fair this summer.”

Olive Garden (www.olivegarden.com) Olive Garden is a family of local restaurants focused on delighting every guest with a genuine Italian dining experience, serving fresh, simple, delicious Italian food, complemented by a great glass of wine, served in a comfortable, home-like Italian setting where everyone is welcomed as family and friends.

Red Lobster (www.redlobster.com) Red Lobster is the world’s largest casual dining seafood restaurant, with nearly 700 locations delivering fresh experiences across North America.  Certified Grill Masters ensure delicious seafood is prepared with culinary expertise on wood-fire grills recently added to every restaurant.   In 2009, Red Lobster was named by Restaurants & Institutions Consumers’ Choice in Chains as “Best Seafood Chain,” by Zagat as “Best Seafood” restaurant and by Men’s Health as “best sit-down chain restaurant in America.”

Fajita Willy's is an upscale, fast-casual Mexican restaurant specializing in fajitas. The locally-owned concept will also serve authentic burritos, tacos and tostadas. Made-to-order margaritas with Fajita Willy's own sweet & sour mixture will be unlike any other margarita in the city. All entrees served with fresh chips and salsa.

I've heard the same rumor about Olive Garden and Red Lobster since 1983. I hope it comes true this time!
