Tour of Kansas City

Lee’s Summit, one of Kansas City’s fastest growing neighborhoods, is about to shift into a higher gear. Saturday, June 23rd through Sunday, June 24th, the fastest professional cyclists in the region will compete in the 49th edition Tour of Kansas City. This will be an incredible weekend celebrating the sport and culture of cycling.
This will not be your ordinary bike race, it is two days of competitive cycling throughout Lee’s Summit’s neighborhoods. There will also be fun rides as well as outdoor activities.
This two day criterium is part of the USA Cycling National Criterium Calender and will ignite the streets of Lee’s Summit with the speed and fury of some of America’s best cyclists.
This year’s event features $10,000 in cash payouts plus great primes and competitive fields!
Saturday’s Criterium will again be at New Longview. This is the 4th year for this course. This year welcomes a new Sunday venue in Downtown Lee’s Summit. Both events will be promoted by Bike America Racing.
There will be live entertainment at the event. You will have the opportunity to visit local small town flavor restaurants which are in close proximity of the race. And, many will have front row race seating!
Downtown Streets Closed during The Tour of KC Bike Race that will take place from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 24, on a closed course in Downtown Lee’s Summit. The following streets, as well as those within this boundary, will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event: Third Street between S.E. Johnson and S.E. Main streets; S.E. Main Street between S.E. Third and S.E. Fourth streets; S.E. Fourth Streets between S.E. Main and S.E. Grand Avenue; and S.E. Johnson Street between S.E. Third Street and S.E. Grand Avenue.
