On Friday, December 21, 2012, Rachel Gooding received the Star of the Classroom award at Arrowhead Stadium during a Chiefs game.

“It was an honor to receive this award and very exciting to get it at a high energy Chief’s game,” Gooding said.

Gooding was nominated for the award by a staff member at Underwood Elementary School.

Sponsored by Missouri Lottery, the Star of the Classroom award recognizes a Missouri Teacher who goes above and beyond in the classroom.

Gooding has been teaching at Underwood for 19 years.

Congratulations, Mrs. Gooding!
