The Longview Art & World Music Festival, sponsored by Summit Art, the New Longview Foundation and Gale Communities, will be held on Oct. 2nd, 3rd & 4th   in Lee’s Summit, Mo.    This fine art festival, which is in its’ second year, will include the work of award-winning local, regional and national artists in a variety of mediums, such as oils, water color, photography, pastels, etc.
Over the past year, David Gale, of Gale Communities, has offered the artists of Summit Art Group, a non-profit organization in Lee’s Summit, the opportunity to participate in plein air events where they can paint or photograph rarely seen areas of the Longview Farms properties.   The artwork produced at these plein air events will be available for sale to the public in a special tent during the festival.   Five percent of the proceeds from the sale of these items will be donated, by the artists, to the New Longview Foundation.  Attendees will not only have the opportunity to purchase this beautiful artwork but, by making those purchases, help to preserve this unique historic area.  Also, on display in this special tent will be interesting antiquities from the Longview Farms properties which are not usually available for public viewing.
World class music and food will be available to visitors through-out the festival and hayride tours of the historic Longview Farm properties will be available on Sat., Oct. 3rd, from 11:00 – 6:00.   On Saturday from 7 – 9:00 p.m., a headliner musical group will entertain on the large stage.   A visit to this unique art festival will provide sights and sounds unlike any other art event in the Kansas City Area.
The festival will be held at 3rd & View High in the New Longview Area of Lee’s Summit.  The hours are Friday 3:00 -7:00, Sat. 10 – 7:00 and Sunday 11 – 5:00.   Be sure to attend this spectacular event featuring art, music and food for the entire family.   For more information visit www.longviewartmusicfest.com.   See you there!
