The Kansas City Royals remain as hot as the weather as they finished a 3-game sweep of the first place Cleveland Indians after a 9-4 win on Wednesday night.
With a game time temperature of 97 degrees the Royals bats were as hot as ever from the first pitch. In the 1st inning the Royals Eric Hosmer put the team on the board with a RBI double only to be followed by Lorenzo Cain's RBI double giving them a 2-0 lead.
The Royals cooled Cleveland's bats thanks to Ian Kennedy who currently holds the 4th best ERA at home in all of Major League Baseball.

On the first T-shirt Tuesday night of the 2016 season where the first 20,000 fans get a T-shirt, a crowd of 33, 729 indeed see the Royals score a run but also saw them get a W with a come from behind 7-6 win over the Washington Nationals.
The Missouri Mavericks clinched the ECHL Central Division title on Wednesday evening with a big 6-3 victory over the reigning Kelly Cup Champion Allen Americans. The Mavericks sit atop the league with an overall record of 47-8-3-2 and have already secured a berth in the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
Steven Summerhays had an impressive night between the pipes for Missouri, stopping 29 shots on goal through a full 60 minutes of play and earning his third win in a Mavericks sweater. Andrew Courtney scored 2 goals for the Mavs in the win, and amateur forward, Darren Nowick, who was added to the Missouri roster just before the Wednesday night contest, scored his first professional goal and 2 assists in his pro debut for the Mavs.
When ECHL record breaking Goaltender Josh Robinson was called up to the American Hockey League someone had to fill his spot on the Mavericks roster in addition to many hearts of Mavericks fans. That someone turned out to be Stephen Summerhays.
