Lee’s Summit Athletes In Kansas vs Missouri High School Football All Star Game
Four Lee’s Summit High School football players have been selected to participate in the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association (GKCFCA) 21st annual Kansas vs Missouri High School Football All Star Game. Sponsored by Country Mart, the game will be held June 14th at Blue Valley Lamar District Stadium in Stillwell, Kansas.
The four are Lee’s Summit North quarterback Will Harrington, running back Marcus Strickland, cornerback Micah Jenkins and safety Spencer Brown all from Lee’s Summit West. The Missouri squad will be coached by Rob Bowers of Richmond. Squad practices began June 4th and continue almost daily until game day. Kansas leads the all-time series 11-8, with one rainout. Missouri won last year’s game 21-13 at Belton’s Southwick Stadium.
“We are excited to have the Blue Valley School District host the game this season,” GKCFCA President and Baldwin High Head Coach Mike Berg said. “We have had tremendous support from high school football fans over the years and with this year’s game to be hosted by a school district that is known for its passion for high school football like Blue Valley, is fantastic. We expect another outstanding event this year.”
The game will be televised live on Metro Sports. The McCarthy Auto Group will sponsor a field goal kick for a new car at halftime. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and may be purchased in advance online at www.kcprepfootball.org or at the gate.
