Caroline Stanley, Lee's Summit North Bronco goalie, signed to play soccer for the University of Missouri.
Tim Richardson, Bronco head coach, comments, "Mizzou began to look at her seriously in a quarterfinal game in 2009." The Broncos won that game and went on to take 2nd in State.
Caroline and her father David credit her success to Richardson and his coaching staff of Bill Arrandale, Ryan Kelley and Mike Johnson. The elder Stanley also credits Dave Wiebenga, the coach of cross town rivals Lee's Summit. "He has been her goal keeper coach for several years during the off-season." The younger Stanley commented, "Coach Arrandale taught me the front smother at a Bronco youth camp early in my career. The first time I did it wrong and went home and almost threw up."
She looks forward to becoming a Tiger, "Mizzou has great coaches and a determination to win." Stanley is also playing for the national team at her level. Perhaps someday we will see her not only wear the black and gold, but the red, white and blue.
