The Lee's Summit North Broncos tonight defeated the Liberty Blue Jays by a score of 52-41 to earn a ticket to Columbia next week.
Kenny Berry got the game started with a two point shot.
The Broncos built their lead until they had a 18-9 advantage with 3:55 left in the half. Liberty would come back within 3 and 1 point at times, even tying the game several times in the third quarter.
Although the Broncos maintained a lead, there never seemed a moment when they or their fans felt assured of a win. With under 3 left in regulation, Anthony Eller came to the line and sinks 2, giving the Broncos a 48-40 lead. Then in the last minute of the game, David Kravish dribbles down the court, raises his hand to the crowd and the Bronco fans rise and show their love for this team. The win puts the Broncos record at 21-6.
"Our players made more plays tonight, it was a real team effort," Coach Hilbert commented afterward. He gathered his players and had them pose for pictures taken by their fans. When all pictures were taken, he escorted them off the court and the work began to face McCluer North(27-4) next Friday(3/11) afternoon, 3:20pm. Mizzou Arena.
