Lee's Summit North Defeats Liberty North in Tennis

by Merle Bowers

April 5, 2011

Lee's Summit North defeated Liberty North in tennis last Friday by a score of 5 to 4. This being a non-conference match, they played a pro-10 format with the player or pair winning 10 games and winning by 2 games being determined the winner.

Decisive wins were made by Robbie Sauer of LS North over Daniel Ohlhausen by 10-3 and Kyle Tanner of LS North over Kellen Burges by 10-2. The doubles team of Sauer and Rob Durbin defeated the Liberty North team of Will Stouffer and Kellen Burgess by a score of 10-2.

Coach Stu Reece shares that he was proud of all of his players, "I really felt like our best performances were in defeats. Andrew Dominick and Andrew Lam played the best singles matches of their careers, but came up just short."

The Broncos face Blue Springs South Tuesday at home.
