We entered the tournament with five seeded wrestlers, so to come away with eight medals and a top five finish out of 16 teams, we competed fairly well. That said, we are a long way from where we need to be in February.
Our team as a whole showed a great deal of effort.
Cartland Allen entered the tournament unseeded and took 5th place at 103lbs.
Cullen Duke had a break out tournament. With only a handful of varsity matches in his career, the unseeded wrestler captured fourth place, only one mistake away from being in the finals.
Steven Kingsolver entered the tournament as the "Rodney Dangerfield" of the 189lb weight class. One match away from being all state last year, Kingsolver could only garner a number six seed. Despite this, he went on to a second place finish losing to all Fargo All American, Cody Johnston from Warrensburg.
At 285, an undersized and unseeded Logan Drake was an escape away from making the semi finals. Drake is also new to the varsity line up this year.
