Lee's Summit West Titans Wrestlers fall to Park Hill South

by LSW Wrestling Coach Ethan Hauck

January 25, 2011

Lee's Summit West lost to Park Hill South at home tonight, 36-40. It was a very competitive dual that featured a lot of young Titan wrestlers. Unfortunately the inexperience led to defeat by way of pin in one to many matches.
Leading the way for LSW was: Matthew Lemanowicz (140), Connor Hampton (152), Andrew Bestgen (160), and Evan Boehm (285) with pins.
The featured match of the evening was a battle between the two 215 pounders in LSW's undefeated Ben Poeschl and Park Hill South's state ranked Sam Eickhoff with Poeschl earning a 6-4 victory.

Although the young wrestlers such as freshman David Padget (171) and Connor Tierney (189) lost, they continue to show improvement and tenacity.

Individually, the wins are important with our district opponents as this may enable us to earn better seeds.

We travel to Olathe North Saturday to compete in a 12 team dual style tournament.
This tournament has been billed as Wrestling for the Cure  as one of the goals is to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer.
