The LSN Boys Varsity Soccer record to date is 17-2-2. They won conference this season with a 10-0 record.

“We have a very competitive conference and to win it is a difficult accomplishment so to go undefeated is a major deal,” Coach Tim Richardson said.

Richardson has been coaching at the high school level for 28 years.

“I grew up in Brazil where soccer was the main sport so I fell in love with it there. I enjoy the challenges of teaching a difficult, skill oriented sport and working with players and helping them mature as players and students,” Richardson said.

The Broncos were the District Champs for fifth straight year in 2011, and they hope to make six years this season.

This past week, the Broncos competed in two single elimination games in District 14, Class 3. They beat LSHS 2-1 in overtime on Tuesday, October 30 with a header by Bryce Gibson off a kick by Quinton Conyers. On Thursday, November 1, the Broncos played Blue Springs and won 3-1. Goals were scored by Quinton Conyers, Ethan Delaney and Cody Hoffman. The games were held at Blue Springs High School.
“At this stage of the season we take it one game at a time. One slip up and the season is over,” Richardson said.

The Broncos will play Rockhurst at Sectionals on Tuesday, November 6. The game will be held at LSN. Quarter Finals are Saturday, November 10. Semifinals are Friday, November 16 at 4:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. at Blue Springs South. Finals are Saturday, November 17 at 4:00 p.m. at Blue Springs South.

Starting off the season strong, the Broncos scored 20 goals in three games allowing none at the KC Classic Pre-Season tournament at Pembroke Hill.

“This group has been conference champs 4 years in a row. They have won the Pembroke Hill tournament several times. They have achieved at a high level of expectation,” Richardson said.

The first conference game for the Broncos was Monday, September 10 versus Ray-Pec.  They came back from losing 2-1, to winning 3-2. It was a very fast game.

The third annual Cross-Town Showdown/LSSA Appreciation Night versus LSHS was Monday, October 15. The Broncos won 3-1. This was also Anti-Bullying Awareness night with over 400 people in attendance.
Thursday, October 25 was Senior Night for the Broncos. They played Ray-Pec and won 4-1. Only seniors scored or assisted. Seniors soccer players are Michael Panarisi, Quinton Conyers, Ethan Delaney, Jared LaPaz, Colton Hoffman, Max Maret and Lars Wilde (Foreign Exchange Student from Germany).

“Panarisi plans on attending Rockhurst University. His speed and ability to get himself open in front of the goal will help make him successful,” Richardson said. “Delaney will attend William Jewell. He has good playmaking ability and skill. He also works well in possession situations.”

Panarisi broke the longstanding 31-season goal record with a hat trick against Liberty High School. A highlight of his career, Panarisi scored with a bicycle kick against Blue Springs South on Monday, October 22. To date Panarisi has scored 38 goals.

“Our program is very excited for Panarisi to have achieved this milestone. For many years the record was held by our current C-Team coach, Mike Johnson,” Richardson said. “Panarisi has worked hard, stayed humble and earned this important achievement. We are very happy to have been able to witness it and be a part of it. He helped LSN win a lot of games.”

LSN Boys JV Soccer ended the season with a 12-3-6 record. They were coached by Bill Arrandale. The LSN Boys C-Team ended the season with a 13-2-2 record. They were coached by Mike Johnson, former LSN soccer player.
