Whether it’s a penalty shot attempt or simply heading to the penalty box one thing is for certain if the play involves Forward Andrew Courtney the crowd will chant “Courts”. With a very popular nickname the 27 year old is now in his 2nd full season as a Missouri Maverick. Courtney’s time with the Mavs started back in the 2010-11 season when he appeared in just 7 games late in the year. Courts may play a lot of hockey but he is a Huge soccer fan. His favorite team is Manchester United the popular English Premier league team.
The Belleville, Ontario native still has a mom and Dad along with a younger brother cheering him on from home. Andrew counts scoring his first career goal as his favorite hockey memory. If not playing the game Courtney would be a teacher in his hometown. His main goal is to live a long and healthy life. While on those long CHL road trips he watches movies on his iPad. If a movie were ever made of his life Andrew would want Christian Bale of Batman fame to play him. When cooking Courtney likes to explore his options so he can be well rounded in the kitchen. Following his playing days Courts wants to be remembered as a guy who works hard every day. Andrews favorite place in the KC area is the Country Club Plaza. The left handed Courtney along with his teammates return to home ice on Tuesday March 5. The Mavericks Host the Bloomington Blaze at the Independence Events Center where the puck will drop at 7:05pm.
